A Sampler? Whatever they are – they are charming!
I agree they look like embroidery designs — maybe what a person sees when looking through a telescope? what a person wearing glasses sees with one eye shut? You have us all very curious.
I too think that they are embroidery designs for a circular quilt.
My first thought was fabric designs – that's what I've had running through my head lately – but then I saw the other guesses and I think embroidery patterns makes more sense. When do we find out?
Embroitdery designs for the center of circular quilt blocks.

I say embroidery designs. And they are too too sweet!!!
The only other round, circular thing that nobody has guessed yet is Xmas ornaments. Well, maybe not the ONLY thing, but that's what I'm guessin. :)

Look like lots of little "doodle stitches"! Those would be fun in a bubble quilt.
