One Thing, One Week Challenge :: Link up 4

Posted on October 25th, by Amy in Challenge Week. 38 comments

Hi Friends!  I hope you had a good weekend – ours was soggy, but productive!  Today we link up and show off what we got done.  If you haven’t already, go post about it on your blog (or flickr) and come back to link up with your permalink here -

Those of you that have met your goal will be entered to win my Fandango scraps (which is mostly fat quarters!).

I’ll announce the winner tomorrow, and the linky will be open for just 24 hours.  Don’t forget to visit the links and cheer each other on!

The winner is: Mickey / Harleywife

My challenge??  Yes, I met my goal of cutting into my Sweet Divinity fabric…I actually completed the top on Saturday!  I’m going to share my quilt for Blogger’s Quilt Festival and keep you in suspense until then…sorry.

Also, I’ve been invited to be on Pat Sloan’s Radio Show!  You can view her Creative Talk Network Site for the schedule, or just go listen live  this afternoon.  Yes I’m on today!  It’s on at 4pm on the east coast, 2pm my time in the mountains…everyone else will have to figure out the time on your own.  Pat’s show is also available on ITunes!

You may have noticed the different linky – I’m hoping to use this one for BQF, considering this my dry run.  Let me know if you have any problems with it, or questions.

Blessings,

Amy

  1. how awesome, Amy! I finished my top as i challenged myself to do, and even had time to start an applique and make a new pin cushion! it was a great week!

love the new linky thingy it worked great for me, i love that there is a thumbnail, that is great!

  2. I’m so excited to have finished! I don’t need fabric from your giveaway, but joining these challenge weeks has really gotten me sewing. Thanks!

That’s exciting that you’ll be on Pat’s show. I’ll try to listen live but it may be from itunes later–so nice that they have this option. Have fun!

  4. I exceeded the limit of what I set myself for the challenge, Amy–it must have been good for me, no? Lol

The new linky widget was fun–I guessed that I should choose the picture of my project from those on offer. I like that the linky widget shows a thumbnail of the projects. I’ll really have to give some thought to my BQF post so I catch the eye! :-)

  5. What would I do without your challenge week? It just gives me the discipline and drive to make things happen (that otehrwise I may have put aside…). So Amy, thanks once more for hosting it: a finished quilt is the result! I may even enter it in the Bloggers quilt festival.

  6. I tried, Amy, I really did. I was making terrific progress when…I ran out of thread! My order didn’t come in the post until Friday. I did get past the halfway mark, but with an oversized Queen quilt that isn’t saying much! I’ll just keep plugging away and will hope the person who gets those fabulous scraps posts their Fandango project!

  7. All finished and I also made a cape to go along with the monster shirt for my nephew! Both were a hit! Thanks so much for keeping me on track. And a BIG congrats to you for being on Pat Sloan’s radio show!

    Have a happy day!

  8. I like the new linky, but I tried to add mine and it’s not showing up yet. Maybe I have to wait? I hope it shows up because I don’t want to lose my chance to win those fantastic fabrics! (I did meet my goal!) Thanks for hosting this again. I love the kick in the behind it provides me with.

  9. I finished my challenge to sandwich my D9P flannel quilt. I have been thinking about how I want to quilt it. Since we got snow on the ground this morning would be nice time to quilt.
Not today but maybe tomorrow or Wed.

  10. Hi Amy,

Thank you, thank you for the challenge this week. I met my goal and got the quilt top done. Without the challenge, I wouldn’t have finished it because it was a “challenge”. I started it 10 or so years ago and had never finished it. Needless to say, the rows weren’t matching up, etc. I’m so glad I signed up! Thanks again.

  11. Thank you, Amy for challenging me this week. I am so glad that I joined you and am happy to say that I met my goal for the week. I finished a quilt top that I had started about 10 years ago. It was truly a “challenge” since my sewing skills had changed over the years. Needless to say, the rows weren’t matching up! Without the challenge pushing me, I wouldn’t have finished the top. Thanks again!

  12. This is my first one week one thing challenge, so I hope I did everything the right way (I have no idea what a permalink is). My goal was to finish the quilting on my bloggers quilt festival quilt (will also be my first), but then I realized that I wanted to keep that one until the week of, so I did two things in one week! I posted the quilt that I quilted and then bound this week. Thanks for the encouragement!

  13. Hi Amy. I accomplished my goal and finished my challenge! I completed my most recent tutorial and posted it to my site. I had a lot of trouble getting my linky to post with the picture. I think the 10th time was the charm! Not sure if anyone else had trouble. I hope that you are having a great day and thanks for the challenge!

  14. Phew! Halloween costumes are now nearly complete! Thanks for giving me that little extra push to get me going, Amy. :)

I like the look of the photo linky thing– seeing all the pictures is pretty cool. But I wonder how well it will load with the hundreds of entries you usually get for BQF? That might be something to think about.

  15. Okay…so I finished my quilt top (like I’d planned)…but I haven’t posted about it (yet). I’m entering in Joann’s Craft for a Cause contest, so I’m trying to make it a surprise when it’s completely finished. (Plus, my camera is broken, so I couldn’t upload a picture if I WANTED to!!!) So, I hope I can still be eligible for the giveaway….but if not, thanks for the little push to get some more accomplished! :)

  16. I completed my challenge of making 2 shopping bags. This is my first time for this challenge and I tried to post my pictures from Flickr, hopefully it worked.

  17. I forgot to mention yesterday, but I really like the new link up. I think having the photo thumbnails to click on looks nicer than just listing everyone’s name or site. And it was easy to use, too!

  18. I am disappointed. I was going to link up today. I didn’t even realized that this was a time limit thing (one day only) or that a drawing was involved. Tuesdays is my crafting share day on my blog.

I am just so proud of completing the one week challenge goal that I still want to share.

I won’t be participating in this event anymore. Maybe I’ll find something similar elsewhere that doesn’t have such strict time limits on linking up. Thanks for the challenge though.

  19. I got my quilt basted and 1/4 of the quilting done! Going slowly with this first one is hard, but I know it will be better in the long run. Sadly, I was too busy yesterday to get my link and picture up. But here it is for anyone interested!
