One Thing, One Week Challenge :: Link up 5

Posted on November 29th, by Amy in Challenge Week. 25 comments

Hi friends! I hope you had a good weekend, and a blessed Thanksgiving. We had lots of good food, and enjoyed downtime with extended family. Nice and relaxing, the only thing missing was fabric! I fixed that yesterday afternoon, while the kids were out playing in the snow.

Today we link up and show off what we got done. If you haven’t already, go post about it on your blog (or flickr) and come back to link up with your permalink here -

My challenge, you ask?  I cut 2 tablerunners yesterday, and pressed fabric for 4 more, I’m hoping to cut those today.

My other distraction this last week has been crochet…I had put it on the back burner while writing my book, but finally pulled out my yarn from Amy again and decided on a simple project.  Hand warmers for myself.  No sooner did I finish them, in a soft, warm brown yarn, and my kids all needed a pair to keep their hands warm!  And since I need all the practice I can get, I agreed!  I took measurements and made a few yarn options available, and had fun crocheting these up for our little people -

That’s it for me!  I can’t wait to see what you have been up to, this last week!

Amy

I finished mine too! I finished the piecing/quilting/and attaching the binding onto my neice’s quilt! The two quilts were lugged across two states for thanksgiving and I actually managed to finish sewing down the binding to one of them!!! :) Pics will be up on the blog soon (as soon as the sun comes out again!)

I really didn’t need added incentive because this was a gift that had to be delivered before Advent to be of use

Thanks for another challenge ! I didn’t get done until last night , but , the deadline kept me going ! thanks again for the win from last month !!! my quilter lady got the quilt top done already WOW ! but she has deadlines, too ! (and she’s super organized and doesn’t sleep , I think ! ) LOVE your hand warmers !

Well, I didn’t complete the three things I was hoping to complete last week, but I did scratch five things off of my “to do before the holidays” list. Instead of finishing my quilt back, painting my ornaments and making my coffee cozy, I finished my quilt back, then basted and quilted it. Much more impressive three things I think. :)

The hand warmers are great!!! Those colors are beautiful! I don’t know how you have time to add crochet into your life, you are amazing. Good for you!!

Thanks for challenging us again. I’m faily certain my project never would have been completed if I hadn’t joined. But I just went and got the band-aids and kept on going! (Good thing the fabrics hide blood well because I must have poked myself 1000 times with pins!)

Okay, I didn’t finish my challenge, but I at least got started on it and hopefully by the end of the week not only will I have the pattern all drafted but the top pieced as well, now that I have my sewing machine back from being fixed. Yipee!

Thanks Amy for the Challenge! It really helped. I know I wouldn’t have given the extra push to finish my project yesterday if I hadn’t decided to participate.

Thanksgiving (and multiple double shifts at work) got the best of me and sadly the hexagons still need a border…Great wrist warmers, the colors are so pretty!

Thanks for the inspiration!

darn it. I’m only 1/2 way through the 3rd of 4 skirts I challenged myself to do. We had company and a bout of pink eye that’s still lingering with Maggie, so I’ve been working on them last night and all day today when I could. Oh well… it was good to have the motivation. I’ll post them for sew & tell on Friday.

    I like this challenge week!!

Well, quite sadly, I achieved my goal…but fell short in the photography and posting area, lol! Crazy Monday and just couldn’t do it, but at least I met my goal…like a PBS special might say, “and that’s all that counts.” :)
