One Thing, One Week Challenge :: Link Up 6

Posted on January 24th, by Amy in Challenge Week, finished project, finished quilt. 30 comments

Are you ready!?  85 of you left comments telling me what you hoped to accomplish in the last week!  I’m expecting some great progress from all of you this week!

Today we link up and show off what we got done. If you haven’t already, go post about it on your blog (or flickr) and come back to link up with your permalink here -

Those of you that met your goal, will be entered to win a hexagon table runner kit:

I’ll announce the winner tomorrow, and the linky will be open for just 24 hours. Don’t forget to visit the links and cheer each other on!

My tablerunner is just finished and on our table!

I decided to get it done a few minutes faster by sewing the right sides together and leaving a space to turn it right side out.  Then I top stitched around the edge to close the hole and added quilting.  Easy peasy – and I love it!

I decided to add  a focal point with my color choices in the center, then took that as inspiration for my quilting.  I’m really happy with it!  My first attempt at machine piecing hexagons, or piecing any hexagons really, and it turned out great!

Off to check out your links, hope you have a great day -

Amy

  4. Thanks Amy AGAIN !! your table runner is very nice ! Hexagons seem real challenging to me ………… In my bricks I cut out , I used every kind of fandango you gave me AND I still have plenty left for more projects !! YAY ! 5. Hello Amy! Thank you so much for this great One week Challenge! It’s was fun and is going to be when we can enjoy others works!
Your table runner looks so wonderful! You said you sew it by machine…that’s great! I don’t think I could sew all the hexacons by hand even I like to quilt by hand.
Have a great week! What shall we do this week…
    Sunny wishes! Teje

  6. Hi Amy, sorry if this comes twice but I think it didn’t appear for the first time…
Your table runner looks really beautiful and I love the colours!
Thank you so much for hosting this great One week Challenge! It’s so much fun!
If you sew your hexacons by machine, that’s great news! I like hexacons but don’t think I could make all of them by hand even I like to quilt by hand!

  7. Hi, Amy! I got my quilt top finished this week – in fact, it’s loaded on the quilting frame and ready to be quilted today! Hooray!! Thanks for the One Thing One Week Challenge – it’s so good to have a goal!

  8. I finished my challenge for this week. It was to design, cut and do some sewing on my Brown Bag Quilt. The hardest part is trying to get the right measurements, etc for the pattern, lol.
I cut and sewed. Also had to modify a section or too that didn;t work with the fabrics. I have two borders to do and the top should be finished. Then on to quilting and binding.

I do not have a blog and therefore don’t have a picture. Do you have to have blogs to do this now?

  9. I finished both of the projects I was trying to get done. Thanks for the challenge. This was a lot fun. I had fun checking out the other projects too! I love your table-runner. I haven’t tried anything with hexagons yet! Thanks again!

  10. Thanks for the kick in the pants! I was able to get my quilt-top assembled and am so happy I made it a priority. It’s so wonderful to see so many people achieve their goals!

  11. don’t know why my name isn’t showing up under my Boxed in Quilt. I am #28. Thank you so much for this inspiration Amy!

  13. Well, I don’t have a blog on which to report my results, but I’m thrilled to say that I did make my English Paper Pieced hexagons. Thanks to having made the committment, I carried them with me and worked on them a little at a time. I finished up late, late last night at the ER Animal Hospital. A happy outcome for our good dog, Nick, and a happy outcome for me, too.

  14. Thanks for the challenge, Amy! I am a list-maker and I love checking it off. Got a few more checks this week because of your challenge. You always have such great ideas that get me motivated. I can’t seem to make the linky behave properly, but at least I tried.
