What will you challenge yourself with this week?

I don’t want you to be stressed out about this challenge, but I do hope to MOTIVATE you. Finish something, start something, just don’t be overwhelmed by everything – One Thing!

You decide, what’s reasonable for you to get done in a weeks time, and tell me your goal in the comments. Next Monday, I will have a linky and you can link to your blog/flickr post, and show off your met goal!

My goal for this week is super secret, so I won’t be sharing, but I still want to motivate you!

  1. Oh I need motivating, there are 2 things I’d like to get done this week. A pattern review for Trish at Two Peas in a Pod which means making a bag or 2 and I’d like to make the curtains for my daughters ‘den’ over her bed…not feeling inspired right now but this will help!

  2. I need to finish a wedding quilt by July 10. The top is done but I’m stalled with the back and binding. But, it’s got to be finished this week, so I’ll join your challenge!

  3. My daughter has requested a new skirt to match one I recently made for myself. Here’s hoping I can get it done this week!

  4. I have eight tops in the stack to be quilted, all for charity needs. But to be realistic, I’ll say that my “absolutely have to” goal is two of them. Hopefully I’ll get them all done, though!!

  5. I would like to finish the back of my Tokyo subway map quilt. The top was finished last night (yay!) and I have a date with a long arm machine next week so I definitely need the back finished this week.

  6. I want to sew the great water bottle holder as part of the zakka sew along! Thanks for the challenge!

  7. I have a stack of batiks that I plan to piece into a quilt top using the Crazy Nine Patch Lattice Quilt and Block Tutorial from oh Fransson!

  8. this week i would like to get my quilt top blocked, that back sewed and then sandwich the quilt…ready for quilting….maybe even get the quilt under the machine and start

  9. I would love to layout my ugly fabric challenge blocks and at least sew the rows. When I lay out blocks I seem to fuss with them a lot before I find an arrangement I like.

  10. I’m hoping to finish a patriotic table runner that I started 2 years ago. Time flys, maybe it was 3 years ago, hmmm.

  11. Two goals really – the first one is to finish a toddler quilt I began earlier this year; the second is to finalize a pattern decision and begin cutting another quilt destined for under a grandson’s Christmas tree.

  12. Motivation is a good thing! I feel so overwhelmed with options lately, I am paralyzed by indecision. I think my goal for the week is going to be catching up on my Harrington & Hannah BOM– I’ve got May and June blocks to do. Woo!

  13. I need motivation, too! This is great! I am working on a wedding gift for friends who are coming to visit on the 17th my goal is to have the quilt put together and basted (if not quilted… Stretch goal!) in the next week. Thanks for the motivation!

  14. I’d like to get at least half way through the hand quilting on my queen sized quilt. Right now I’m at 2 of 16 blocks, I’d love to be at 8 next week! Thanks for the push, I love the one week challenges.

  15. I have a quilt top I’d like to quilt this week. I’ve been calling it the “Just Wing It” quilt since that’s the main fabric I used. Thanks for the motivation.

  16. Good morning! Sounds fun. This is my first time trying this so lets see how it works. I would LOVE to finish my Tova shirt. :)

I look forward to seeing what others get done.

  17. Thanks for the challenge and motivation, Amy! One thing I want to finish is a fun runner with a new technique I’m trying out, then I’ll be able to write up the instructions for the pattern. Wish me luck

  18. I have a stack of fat quarters that needs to be pressed and cut into triangles. That’s all I’m shooting for this week, as most of the week is going to be spent at my parents’ house and they frown on me bringing my projects with me!

  19. I hope to quilt and bind a baby quilt that I just finished piecing. This is a great challenge, kind of like Weight Watchers, keeps you honest! Haha.

  20. My goal for this week is to piece the top to the tree skirt quilt that I am making for my son and daughter inlaw. Finished there drapes last week it was a nightmare but complete.

  21. My goal this week is to machine sew the binding on my daughter’s college quilt so I can then take my sewing machine in for a tune-up!

  22. I would love to get my BIL’s t-shirt quilt top done. He will be in town in less than 3 weeks…yikes! Thanks for the push, Amy. Smiles~Beth

  23. I just finished the backing for a quilt. My challenge is to put the quilt on my new frame and quilt it, just go for it! No more practicing, quilt on a real quilt. No stress here :0

  24. I have only made 3 out of the 9 blocks for my Swoon quilt and I would really like to try and sew up another block (or two) because then I am {almost} halfway!

  25. This is just the kind of challenge I need! I plan to have the two cushion covers I just started, finished, including all the hand stitching.

  26. My goal for this week is to finish piecing 4 placemats I am making for my MILs 87th birthday (Yes, you have read correct… mother-in-laws!! My husband’s mother has a twin sister and they really come as a pair! Two for the price of one!)

  27. My goal this week is to finish a baby quilt. It needs to be quilted and bound by Friday so I can show it at my guild meeting and then I can deliver it. Thanks for the motivation!

  28. Hoping to finish a patriotic wall quilt/door quilt/not sure what it’s going to be. In the ideal world, I’d finish it in time to hang on Wednesday… ha ha! :)

  29. Goal…mmm…Bind two S.C.A.N. (Stop Child Abuse Now) quilts for next Tuesday’s MQG meeting. A bonus would be to paint the barn quilt for Dad’s birthday.

  30. I have a bag that I still haven’t made. Somehow, I keep changing my mind on one of the fabrics. My goal is to FINALLY just make it.

  31. I’ll be finishing up a pillow for the Pillow Talk Swap Round 8… and hopefully motivating that boy I married to move my longarm over to the new house! :)

  32. Count me in! I want to quilt a sun bonnet sue quilt I finished piecing for a friend. It’s for her granddaughter. I’m calling it a quilt for Kelsey. Course, I want to finish quilting some more quilts, but I’m going to focus on this ONE! thanks for the challenge!

  33. I have been stalled on a quilt using drunkard’s path blocks because of the trimming. My goal is to get all blocks trimmed this week.

    Thanks for the motivation!

  34. I’m going to finish a pillow case I am making for a friend’s charity. It’s been on my list for a bit now, so it’s time to finish it! Thanks for the motivation. :)

  35. I attention has been diverted for the last month and I need to get motivated again. I think if I can get my studio straightened up and organized, I can get to finishing a few projects. First on the list is to put together some IKEA furniture for my studio, second is to bind a twister quilt, third is to work on my block for the Quilt Con challenge. This list should keep me busy for a while.

  36. Okay, I am going to try this! “one challenge, one week”…not necessarily FINISHED work, right?…just do something!!!!!
I am continuing work on my queen-size quilt for our bed.
