What will you challenge yourself with this week?

I don’t want you to be stressed out about this challenge, but I do hope to MOTIVATE you. Finish something, start something, just don’t be overwhelmed by everything – One Thing!

You decide, what’s reasonable for you to get done in a weeks time, and tell me your goal in the comments. Next Monday, I will have a linky and you can link to your blog/flickr post, and show off your met goal!

My goal for this week is to catch up and ship off bee blocks for the ladies in The Bees Knees, quilting bee.

I’m three months behind; but not for much longer!

For those of you that meet your goal, you will be entered to win a copy of 100 Pretty Little Projects : This book from Lark Books is FULL of fun projects, great projects, with simple instructions that would be fun to do with the kids, or give as gifts for the holidays.

  1. My goal is to assemble the top of my first Halloween quilt. This is a charity project. Most of the blocks are completed, and it seems like a reasonable goal to put everything together by the end of the week. The progress can be followed on my blog.

  2. I am on vacation this week, a staycation if you will. I am planning some major sewing. Probably too ambitious, but I have lots to do. For this challenge, I am going to quilt a baby quilt and a Bee quilt this week. I really need these two to get done. There are two more waiting in the wings for quilting.

  3. I am planning to complete the hand quilting of my Vanishing 9 Patch Quilt….I think I can, I think I can, I think I can……………….

  4. Thanks for this challenge – the timing is perfect ;-)) I want to finish the back for my otter quilt – it’s almost done, it sits on my design wall and so I can’t work on anything else !!! So – this week, I’m going to finish it !!

  5. I want to finish the hand quilting on my historical quilt so I can get my commissioned quilt in the frame! Thanks for the added motivation. Love these challenges.

  6. I want/need to finish my sister’s baby shower gift: a boppy cover and hooter hider. The shower is Thursday, so my timeframe is slightly shorter, and my goal is NOT to be working on it into the wee hours of the morning Thursday!

  7. I have SO many WIPs that it’s hard to choose which to work on. I would really love to get my oldest son’s quilt top pieced together. Thanks for the motivation, Amy. I hope you had a lovely weekend. Smiles~Beth

  8. I am hoping to finish cutting 140 5″ squares for a Christmas Tree Skirt. I would love to say that I have sewn them together also, but will be satisfied with the finished squares…

  9. I’m working on the Up a Notch quilt from Fresh Lemons right now. I’ve got all of the subunits of the blocks pieced and pressed, and my goal is to get the top all stitched up this week, and add a border. It’s for my mom, and I’m going to visit her in September, so I need to get this sucker done before my trip!

  10. I have some fabrics with daisies on them that have been in my stash for years. I never could figure out what to do with them. Now I have finally chosen a pattern and other fabrics to go with the floral prints. So this week my goal is to piece the blocks for a lap quilt and finally use these fabrics.

  11. I’d like to get the hand quilting finished on the wall hanging I’ve been working on forever, I am “this” close! And I’d like to get my huge Honeycomb Hexie quilt basted. We’ll see how many other things interrupt me!

  12. I ditched a lot of blocks from an old UFO and have sewed it into an almost complete top. I’d like to add the borders and ideally start (if not finish) the quilting on it in the next week!

  13. I have a small handbag to make. I have the fabric, need to buy interfacing, thread and some other little bits tomorrow and then I should be able to start! I’ve only made simple totes until now, maybe I’ll go wild and try adding a zip!

  14. I need to quilt the top of my grandsons quilt . He will be arriving on Saturday and is so looking foward to this quilt. He is 7 and picked out the pattern and the colors. I am a beginner at free motion and have just kept ripping it out :( My goal is to get it done!!

  15. I have a pile of basted hexies ready to sew into flowers for my grandmother’s garden quilt. Getting that done is my one thing, but I also want to try out different yellow fabrics for centers and get closer to making a final decision on that. Thanks for the motivation!

  16. I want to finish my giant granny squares and attach them together! There are only 4 of them to make up a baby quilt, so it should be manageable :)

  17. I hope to finish my art quilt for our guild show…I ended up doing a lot of ripping/picking out thread and redoing the stitching….came up with a better idea to create the thread painting and, although it is taking me twice as long, I am much happier with the results!!

  18. I’d like to make my goal to finish my scrap quilt challenge quilt top ; but I’ll make it more realistic and make my challenge to WORK ON IT !!!!! ( and then if I finish , I will have outdone myself ! ) I did some work today on refinishing a dresser so that distracted me from sewing .
