Modern Basics II :: Buttonholes

Buttonholes is a rectangular block, with long lean lines.  With this project, complete instructions for making flying geese are included, with no waste, and no bias to manage either!  It’s a great skill builder, for a new to intermediate quilters.

  1. I love the Buttonholes quilt and am making it for my brother but the piecing is giving me FITS! I’ve done about 10 quilts including several with flying geese but I am having a heck of a time getting the buttonhole ends matched up correctly with the two opposite flying geese. I’ve done more “unsewing” than sewing! Any secrets? Thanks! Love your work!
