Quiltcon
Hi there! I’ve mostly caught up on sleep and emails since being gone for the weekend – and want to share a few quilts and highlights from Quiltcon with you! My roomie April, and I had fun checking out Austin after the full days of classes and lectures. Here’s a few of the quilts that were hanging, check out the Modern Quilt Guild site for more pictures soon.

Tribute to BC Binning – Made and quilted by Diane Thompson

Reflections in Grey – Made and quilted by Mary Marcotte

RonQuilt: The Ron Swanson Quilt – Made and quilted by Monica Solorio-Snow

Psychedelic Baby – Made and quilted by Katie Pedersen

Two of my quilts were hanging as well – it was great fun to see them admired by many!

Sunday Morning I was the workshop assistant for Yoshiko Jinzenji, and her transparency class. The beauty of this quilt is so hard to capture with a camera. The organza fabric over the pieces gives the quilt a shimmer. I’m looking forward to working with this technique soon!

I couldn’t help but capture everyone geeking out with their cameras!

There were lots of good chats with friends and the show was fantastic! I’m already looking forward to Quiltcon 2015 details!

If you made it this far…I’m destashing on etsy.

Thanks for reading! I’m working on a deadline for next week, and catching up on laundry.
hugs – Amy

Major jealous here that I couldn’t be there. I’ll be planning it for 2015 for sure.
Thanks for the mini quilt show. Lovely work.
QuiltCon was amazing!!!! Sad to have missed seeing you there. I did enjoy seeing your quilts though.
Hi Amy, Beautiful quilts!! Thank you for sharing.
Amy, thanks so much for sharing QuiltCon. It sounds and looks like it was a lot of fun. I was fortunate to have a couple of quilts in the show but unfortunately wasn’t there myself so really love seeing it all online.
It was nice to meet you in Yoshiko’s transparancy class, which was one of the highlights of QuiltCon. I would happily geek out again over her stellar work. Your quilts looked great in the show, too!
I was glad to get a chance to meet you briefly at QuiltCon to thank you in person for all your work on BQF! Can’t wait for 2015!
Thanks Amy for including my quilt “Reflections in Grey”! You did a great job taking pictures. Wasn’t the show really inspiring? I would be hard pressed to name one favorite thing, it was all very relaxed and enjoyable. Everyone I spoke to was having a great time and several said they liked that they could take their time and still see all the quilts. I wish we could have met, that would have made it even better.
