Coming Soon – Blogger’s Quilt Festival

Posted on April 8th, by Amy in Bloggers Quilt Festival. 42 comments

Looking back over the eight other Festivals I’ve hosted, I’m looking forward to the next installment, and hope you are too!  Do you have a quilt to share yet?  I’m still deciding which quilt I will share.  It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but usually it’s the most recent finish!

Spring Blogger's Quilt Festival -

The Festival will run May 17-31st. As in the past I have a great group of sponsors, and everyone is welcome to participate!  (email me, if you would like to sponsor a prize) I’m thinking about making each category it’s own linky, this time around, I’m thinking more quilts will be viewed if we aren’t overwhelmed by the volume of quilts to view, in each post. It also means you have to pick just one category to enter your quilt in.  I would love to know your thoughts.

A few details for participation :

1 – Write a post the week of the festival, featuring your finished quilt, and it’s story.
2 – In your post link back to the festival.
3 – Share a link to your post, in the linky on the festival post.
4 – Leave me a comment on the festival post to be entered into giveaways.
5 – Visit all the other quilters sharing their quilts and be inspired!

The schedule :

May 17 – 22 Festival begins!  (Linky is open)
May 23 – 27  Nominations are made
May 28 – 31 Vote for your favorites
June 1   Winners announced

And the categories :

  • Favorite baby quilt
  • Favorite throw quilt
  • Favorite bed quilt
  • Favorite group/bee quilt
  • Favorite two color quilt
  • Favorite ROYGBIV (color wheel) quilt
  • Favorite applique quilt
  • Favorite hand quilted quilt
  • Favorite home machine quilted quilt
  • Favorite professionally quilted quilt
  • Favorite quilt photographer
  • Favorite art quilt
  • Favorite doll/mini quilt
  • Favorite wall hanging
  • Favorite scrap quilt

I love watching the interaction among quilters during the festival.  Friendships are made and quilts are inspired, I hope that you are planning to join us next month! Grab a button in the sidebar, and share the news on your blog.

Thanks for reading!

  1. This sounds like fun! I’m moving to another country in a couple weeks and may or may not have time to participate. I like the idea of each category having it’s own link…if I’m understanding correctly…because then I could work down the list beginning with my favorites. No matter whether I am able to participate or not…I’d like to offer my online bohemiannie! bag pattern for a gift (sponsor a prize)…IF you think it would be something you’d like to include. Thanks so much for putting this together!

  2. I like the separate linky idea. I remember last time I was spending hoirs openong separate tabs in my browser to see every quilt. I jave a question tho: Can 1 quilt be entered in more categories (like baby and 2 colored) and are we allowed to enter several in different categories? Thanks Amy, I can’t wait!

  3. Oh, yay :D It’s time again for another online quilt show. I just love these so much. Thank you – THANK YOU – for going to all the work to host them. Your idea of a separate linky for each category is superb. That should make this popular event much easier to navigate and vote.

  4. I think I would like each category having its own linky but does that mean we can only enter one quilt? Or could we enter different ones (each with their own post) in different categories?

  5. Love the idea of the separate linky for each category….the number of beauties to look through won’t be so overwhelming! LOL
Interesting question above — would that make it OK to enter more than one quilt? It’s so hard to choose! :)

  6. I’m grabbing the Button and will Blog about it on Wednesday. Thanks for all you do for us Bloggers! Blogger’s Quilt Festival is my favorite time of year. So many people stop by and make comments to make me smile! I’m working on something to show that hasn’t been Blogged to death already…

  7. Great idea to separate the categories. It was too big a list the other way and I got tired of clicking on separate links so the last ones posted didn’t even get a look from me. I would like to select a category to look at then move to another. Also would help with the voting.

  8. Your quilt festivals always give me a goal in site to finish up my current projects. I love them! I’m in the process of hand quilting and this actually spurred me on to do more lines last night. I love the different linky idea but I hope we can enter the quilt in more than one category. Quilts have so many facets!

  9. I would love to show one of my quilts and see what everyine else is up to, I think that different linky would be great also. Thanks

  10. I think making everyone decide on one category to enter makes perfect (really perfect) sense. This event has gotten so large, entering multiple categories just makes it more difficult for you and the spectators.

The winner, Denny Hamlin maintained a good lead over Tony Stewart
and Kyle Busch to ultimately take the race. Well the date of the
event is Sunday, February 26th, while the start time is scheduled for 12 p.

  12. If you think you have two quilts you would like to enter are you allowed to, in separate categories? And thank you for doing the festival. It is always fabulous and so well organised.
