Between the two books there are 34 patterns included!

To enter to win, just leave me a comment, telling me what gifts you are making for the holidays.

I have a list I hope to sew, but also need to get a little sleep too…hmmm ;)

If you haven’t visited here before, be sure to check out my quilts page, and the most recent Blogger’s Quilt Festival, lots of inspiration to be found. And I’ve started a podcast – Quiltcast, which is a ton of fun, great to listen to while piecing, or out for a walk! 1. I had lots of plans but don’t have the time to complete them, so no handmade for me this year. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  2. I just finished making my second Christmas gift. A little pink quilted crown for my niece and I made a set of Christmas coasters for a work gift exchange. Not sure how much else will get done in the next 16 days.

  3. I just had a baby so I’m giving myself this xmas off. I do need to make a tree skirt for our new tree though. It likely won’t get done in time, but maybe I can squeeze in some sewing during nap time.

  4. I wish I had to be making gifts… But this year I’m half planet away from all my family and friends and don’t have my craft supplies with me. I really wish I could join all the pre-holiday making frenzy. If I had a chance I would be making Christmas tree decorations for sure.

  5. I am such a slacker. I am not making any home made gifts this year. I don’t know how some of these mommies do it. I have zero time to sew with a growing baby. Hopefully next year!

  6. I made a few gifts–a tutu for a niece, handwarmers for all the nieces & nephews and {hopefully, still} a couple of skirts for my youngest. Thanks for the giveaway!

  7. I am making a wall hanging quilt for my older daughter and house ornaments for a whole bunch of friends. Enjoy the season!

  8. I’m making a large tote bag, a button-down shirt, an apron and a quilt! Trying to design the quilt on my own…we’ll see!

  9. I still need to make an entire quilt and get it in the mail. Sigh. It will be a beauty when it’s done, so I guess I’d just better get it started. Busy, busy time of year!

  10. Well, we had our holiday season already, and I didn’t make anything for anyone! Right now, I’m knitting stuff for myself, while waiting for a magician to come clean up my sewing room, so I can get back to quilting! Happy holidays, Amy!

  11. I’m have made a super hero set for my daughter, a couple purses, and I’m still hoping to finish at least 1 or 2 quilts and make a stick pony. Thanks for the giveaway!

  12. I do so enjoy making doll quilts and give all the little girls in my life one for Christmas. Not only does it keep my heart warm, but it keeps their little dolls warm all year long.

  13. Earlier this year I was in the hospital, everyone there was so kind and so professional. There really is no way to thank people for that kind of kindness but I am making Christmas pillows for them in hopes that they will speak to my gratitude.

  14. I am in the process of making a baby quilt for my husband’s goddaughter’s new baby. I am also making a Christmas quilt for myself and a table runner for my aunt that requested it.

  15. What a great giveaway!. I am limited my sewing list to my swoon quilt this year!, quiet a lot!.

BTW, a good part of this quilt has been done listening your podcast!, I am up to date now!

  16. I’m making a Christmas quilt for a sister-in-law who’s getting married Dec. 29th. What I thought was a simple project is turing into a challenge but fun!

  17. I’m making a quilt for my husband. Hoping to have it done by Christmas. Also making potholders and dish towels for stocking stuffers.

  18. This is an awesome giveaway. I’m currently working on my Whispering Lace quilt top from your Modern Neitrals book in cool neutrals.
    Have a great day.
    Always, Queenie

  19. Would love to win your books! I have been pretty busy the last couple of weeks. I made little coffee cup “sleeves” for two of my nieces, and just finished making 4 pillows to gift. I am determined to start sooner next year. I’m also working on a quilt for a friend, but not sure it will be done in time for Christmas!!!

  20. I’m making three quilts, a pillow cover, a nook cover, an iPad cover, a wine tote, and 6 crayon rolls (I’m pretty sure there are actually more but I can’t think of them at the moment). Thanks for a chance to win some great books!

  21. I made my grandmother an exploding lonestar quilt. She’ll be getting the top for christmas and I hope to get it quilted for her birthday in February. I’m not fast enough to get it done before christmas!

  22. Sadly, I am not making any “gifts” for the holidays – I have requests for two additional pillow cases for my grand tots pillows, and two baby doll blankets for the dolls they are getting for Christmas, now to find the time to make them…company coming tomorrow and more company coming -

  23. I am making table runners, baby quilts, a wall-hanging, and some stockings. Which means I must stop reading blogs and get busy quilting.

  24. I’ve made potholders and hot-pad from scraps, all year long. I’m mailing them out, instead of Christmas cards. I thought they’d be more useful.

  25. I’ve made one quilt and have three others to finish. I’m also hoping to finish three table toppers before Christmas for gifts!!

  26. I’m making three quilt! One is nearly done, one is barely started and one is somewhere in between! I think I’ll get them all done! Think positive!! :)
Both of these books are on my wish list, so thanks for the chance to win!

  27. I just finished a carpenters’ star quilt to give to a friend, and I also made quilts earlier this year for Christmas for my parents… I’m still up in the air about almost all the other presents I should make!

  28. I made quilts for my three new nephews. Technically, they were made this fall but didn’t get mailed till Saturday and I wrapped them in Christmas paper, so that makes them Christmas gifts. Thanks, I’d love to win these!

  29. I’m making 4 Snap Bags, a set of placemats, a whole bunch of vinyl coasters and a baby quilt to donate. I *think* I’ll finish on time! That so much for the chance to win – I’d love your Modern Neutrals (I do already have the Modern Quilts from the Blogging Universe and l.o.v.e. it!1 o:)

  30. Ohhh, I’d love to win these books and I would share with my friend who is new to quilting. I am sewing a quilt right now for a client (which is a gift for her to give) but I still want to make a few small things – coffee cup cozy and oven mitts for my daughter’s stocking.

  31. My kids are all making gifts for each other (a pillow, library book bag, and something else), so I’ve got some work ahead of me :)

  32. I’m cutting down from last year, we just completed a cross country move, but I will be making soaps and some kite paper stars and maybe some mug rugs. Thanks for the giveaway, they look like great books!

  33. I am making table runners, and mug rugs and a hand embroidered design for a quilted bag for a friend. Thank you for the chance to enter your giveaway. your books look fabulous. conn_and_vans_momatyahoodotcom

  34. Your confidence in me isn’t deserved, Amy. Unfortunately, I’m not making anything for Christmas. I hope to get the family fed and beyond that….these hands are making nothing!

  35. I have made 4 quilts, 4 tie fleece blankets, several crocheted potholders, placemats, and have to finish up on pillow case and knapsacks x3 (for 3 granddaughters). Then I will be done !LOL
Thanks for the chance to win !

  36. I am making things for my girls. That’s it this year. I had bigger hopes and dreams of more, but it’s been a weird year. I am in the process of making dresses and reading pillows and if all goes well, some dolls too!

  37. How nice of you to share! I’m keeping things simple this year. I’ll probably make a pillow or two for my mom and MIL, but all the men in my life want tools and electronics this year… Can’t make those out of fabric!

  38. I’m working on a baby blanket for a co-worker’s daughter using the Lighthouse pattern at Fresh Lemons Quilts. It’s my first paper piecing project, and it’s going well so far!

  39. Bags and more bags. Then I’ll need to make one for me: a case for the tablet that my husband is getting me for Christmas!

  40. This is the first Christmas in a long time that I’m not making much for gifts. Several family members are moving in the new year, so we’re doing a very minimal Christmas. It’s been a nice break to not be sewing like crazy with a deadline!

  41. I’m doing a lap quilt for my mother in law, pjs for my kids and husband, placemats for my six year old and her friends, and if I get it finished in time, an “ugly christmas sweater quilt” for MYSELF!

I love both these books btw.

  42. I am making up some fabric baskets, a quilt (or 2 if I have time), some bags and some pouches! Of course, as much as I can get done before Christmas!!!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  43. Most all of my girlfriends are pregnant or just had babies so baby quilts are a plenty! I’ve been knitting a few hats and scarves to replace old ones but nothing too fantastic.

  44. I’m making LOTS of potholder sets this year!! Thanks for the opportunity to win!! I’d LOVE to have these books….great giveaway!

  45. Three lap quilts for three adultish sons. Two are done, one not started. Also a table runner and cloth napkins for my sons girlfriend. Lots done. Lots to do.

  47. I’m making a quilt for my bestie, and for my absent-minded sister, a pin cushion that she can strap onto her arm like one of those ipod holder things. Thanks for the giveaway!

  48. Well… so far I have made 3 belts, one phone case, painted two mugs, and fancied up 1 jar. Left to make is one kindle case, a skirt, a shirt, three dresses, a coin purse, a guitar strap, and two more belts….and possibly a few toys. =)

  49. I’m working on guy gifts right now. Making a pouch (not a purse!) for the car. It’s basically a small toiletry type bag with see through vinyl pockets inside. I’ve stocked them full of essentials like gum, bandaids, Kleenex, pens, etc.

  50. I am making a bandit fox from felt for my 1 year old son, and a car mat.
For my twin daughters, i am making them a doll each from storybook toys (theyre so lovely) and a baby bassinet

  51. I made numerous hand-crafted ornaments, several knit and crochet items (blanket, scarf, home accessories), a plush doll/pillow, and re-made a wall clock from something boring to something cute.

  52. I just finished making a cushion for my stepmom. I finished it sooner than I thought I would so now I might have time to make some tote bags.

  53. I’m making some receiving blankets for a great-niece who will join the family next month. Also trying to whip up a doll quilt for another niece.

  54. Love your blog. I’m planning and choosing colors for a quilt for my parent’s 80th next year. 38 pattern ideas won’t go astray!

  55. I’m working on some flannel pajama pants for Christmas presents. Thanks for the chance to win such an awesome giveaway. Linda

  56. Instead of making anything new I am finishing up some projects. One is a cute wall hanging I started… a la Charley Harper. It was started before I saw the new fabric line.

  57. I am quilting some placemats for my brother, and crocheting some small ornaments that are being included in my Christmas cards this year.

  58. Hi Amy! I have a too long list of projects I need to finish for Christmas (why am I on the computer entering giveaways?) that includes two pillows, four quilts and two zipper pouches. Yikes!

  59. I’m making trivets and a flaxseed heat pillow for my mom, and a memorial mini quilt for our good friends who lost two furry family members this year. The planned Christmas tree skirt will have to make its debut in 2014.

  60. I have given up on the tree skirt and Christmas stockings I wNted to make and am just trying to get my Christmas quilt done.

  61. Hi Amy — I’m making a shower curtain and a tote bag for my DIL. Also making pillow cases for my grandsons. My two youngest granddaughters are getting entry level Singer machines for Christmas so I am getting their pillow cases cut but not sewn. They will sew them with me on their new machines! I can’t wait…. Have a wonderful week and thanks for the great giveaway!

  62. I am making some Open Wide Pouches (from Anna of Noodlehead’s tutorial) & some pillows to give as Christmas gifts. 64. Oh gosh, here goes. I’ve got two divided bags, a king size quilt, a paper pieced wall hanging, and a little something special undecided for great grandma. Have to stop entering and sew.

  65. I’m making a pillow for my son (Star Wars themed, featuring embroidery and a paper pieced light saber), and probably a table runner for my mom. Thanks!

  66. I am making a table runner and a small quilt as gifts, for this year, I hope! Don’t you just love homemade items? I do! Happy Christmas to all

  70. I am having fun making pouches and potholders and other small items for gifts. I am making a Dr. Who pouch for my daughter, she is a big fan! I follow you all the time and would love the books!

  71. I had good intensions for making lots of gifts this year. I even made a list. November and December kinda snuck up and then pushed me down this year so I haven’t made one thing yet. :-/

  72. I’m not making holiday gifts except for cookies. I don’t like to have a bunch of crafting deadlines all at once, so while I do make gifts for people at other times of the year (for birthdays etc.) I avoid doing so for the holidays.

  73. I just finished pin cushion ornaments for my bee buddies, and am now trying to finish a lap quilt for our guild meeting on Friday. Wish me luck!

  77. I am finishing up a jumper dress for my granddaughter and a chalk board roll up for her. Merry Christmas. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com

  78. I finished a quilt for my sister and I am working hard and fast trying to finish my largest quilt yet, slightly bigger than queen size before Christmas. I have Modern Neutrals on my wish list.

  79. I am making a lot of gifts this year. My granddaughter is getting a toy kitchen from Santa so I have made an apron, chef’s hat and oven mitt, and am in the process of making felt food. (I made carrots last night.) She is also getting a doll bed so I have made the quilt, but still need to make the mattress and the pillow! What fun!! Thanks, Kathy

  80. My gift this year was no handmade gifts this year. ;-) All my time was taken up making quilts for all the new babies, and that was enough. Instead, I’m working on a kit I bought on the shop hop the first year at Sewing Summit. Plus finishing up the last baby quilt (just binding left to do).

  81. what a wonderful give a way. I am trying to learn so much about quilting and having tons of fun doing it. Thanks for the chance.

I have 7 finishes for Christmas so far (2 x 241 totes & 5 reversable pillow case skirts) I have 3 super hero capes, 3 spiked dinosaur fancy dress tails, 2 more 241 totes, 1 more skirt and a couple of small ornaments … just 11 to go, sleep what is that. Entering SMS Give aways while my sick miss 3 is curled up on me. Hoping she might rest this afternoon with a movie so I can do some sewing.

  86. I have made 2 Christmas stockings for the grands. Also, a “penquin” pillowcase for another granddaughter. I Mod Podged a reuseable container (instead of wrapping paper) for one of the gifts. We celebrate this coming weekend so I’m not doing anymore this year. :)

  87. I have left on the list to sew:
    A play tent for Kindy,
A Christmas day dress for myself and one for my daughter, a couple of plastic bag storers for friends, recovering a vintage toy ironing board and my daughter wants a Christmas quilt. Not sure she’ll be getting the quilt this year however :)

  88. I decided not to stress this year and eliminated the handmade Christmas items from my list. I have a couple handmade things for AFTER Christmas, so the deadline is not looming!

  89. Im making the stocking tutorial from you! I found it on pinterest and when I went to the site to look at the tutorial I was pleased to see that it was from you! Thanks for making the tutorial! It is the best one I have seen and I love the single star on the stocking!

  90. Im making the stocking tutorial from you! I found it on pinterest and when I went to the site to look at the tutorial I was pleased to see that it was from you! Thanks for making the tutorial! It is the best one I have seen and I love the single star on the stocking!

  91. well, if I end up having enough time I’m making a quilt for my husband and a Christmas stocking for my daughter. I’ll probably make a few small gifts for family as well, but I don’t have high hopes that I’ll get it all done. The fact that we’re moving right after Christmas definitely puts a damper on how much time I have to sew

  92. I am making 4 quilts, one for each of my daughters and my granddaughter. And reading through the posts I need to make 2 stockings. The Christmas quilt for me is hanging on the sewing table, that makes 5 quilts, eek. Thank you for the give away. Love your work.

  93. I am working on Bonnie Hunter’s mystery, Celtic Solstice. This will keep me occupied the whole Christmas. In between I will try to FMQ Modern Trees from Christa’s quilt along.

  94. Not a great deal as I’ve run out of time :( Though I did make 2 dresses and a pair of shorts for a KK, and I am making my son’s teacher a quilt and two cushions, so its not a complete washout.

  95. I have made a lot of stuff as Christmas presents this year. I am still yet to make some sleep shorts and a lego paper pieced bunting.
The pressure is on – but I am sure I will get them all done in time.

  96. Need to finish a quilt for my 16 year old grandson. He asked for one this summer, but has no idea he’ll be getting one for Christmas.

  97. 20 baby quilts for Pine Ridge Reservation and a couple of small things for family/friends – zip pouch, table runner, napkins, tote bag (:

  98. Some napkins with rolled edge on my serger, a little eco-bag, a scarf & hat set, a notebook holder thingy, and some stuffed animals.

  99. I’m working on knit scarves for my 2 future daughter-in-laws. I have your 1st book and would love your 2nd. Thanks for the opportunity!

  102. I’ve made a cross-stitched ornament and a felt one, and will be making several more from bottle caps. Plus a tote bag or two, some zipper bags, PJs for my son, and more. At least of the plan — most of that is not even started, so it will be interesting to see if I can pull all that off! Thanks for this chance

  103. I wish I could say I managed to get some things done in time for Christmas, but I didn’t. I hope to have time over the holiday break to make some progress on future gifts! I have a couple of quilts to finish and some adorable embroidery. Maybe I’ll be a year ahead for Christmas 2014!
    Thanks for the chance!

  104. i’m finishing my Blitzen quilt that i bought for Christmas 2012, must finish the borders, layer and quilt, i’m gifting it to me, lol

  105. I’m working on a quilt for my Mom, but I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get it done on time, so it’ll probably have to be a birthday present. (Her birthday is in February, so it wouldn’t be too much of a wait!)

  106. I made my 6 granddaughters hair accessories and a ribbon hanger to store them. I’m also making a remote control holder that hangs on the arm of the couch. My hubby made our 4 kids star candle holders (I’m hoping he made me one too!) and the 2 grandsons fishing pictures and wallets.

  107. I am making quilts and several homemade items for everyone this year. Thanks for the chance to win! I am a bloglovin follower.

  108. I’m hoping to sew scarves as presents this year – I should start. I’ve been wanting both of those books!
    Thanks for the chance!

  109. Mainly making baby stuff and hooded towels this year, maybe if I can skip some sleep and sew something for gran or mom as well…

  110. I haven’t been able to sit at my machine for the past few months since moving but I have managed to X stitch a couple of minis of the season for our livingroom.
    Thank you for the chance:)

  111. I’m working on family pjs. I’m not sure if everyone considers them gifts, more a given but they loom large on my have to do list. Thanks.

  112. I need to make them once I’m back in the states, but some bunting or something small like that is my plan before Christmas. These books are wonderful! Thank you for the chance to win a great prize.

  113. I actually joke that I knit my family “Christmas Cowls” every year (I swear they like them!) but this year I’m sewing them. So much faster when you have two kids running around :)

  114. well the quilts I had been hoping to finish didn’t pan out, so I’m having to lean back on some homemade food goodies for now.

  115. I’m working on a Swoon and a Penny Patch but they won’t be done for Christmas :( What a wonderful prize. Thank you for participating in the Giveaway Day.
