Quiltcast #25

Posted on February 19th, by Amy in podcast, Quiltcast. 4 comments

April and I have lots of secret sewing happening, thankfully there’s always lots of quilty stuff to talk about!

The Quiltcast - AmysCreativeSide.com

Check out my post about the Wonky Log Cabin ruler – it’s a great fun project!

Shipping your Quilts :

Wrap the quilt in plastic bag, ziplock bags are a great option too!

Mark front, back, up, down on your quilt top and back when shipping to a quilter.

Well pressed, nicely folded or rolled.

Insurance – make sure your hard work is covered!

Add an extra label with your name and address with a safety pin.

Long arm machines :

Natalia - Gammill Premier Stitch with Statler Stitcher – 18″ throat space, 10 foot table

Amy – Baby Lock Crown Jewel – 18″ throat space, 10 foot table

April – HandiQuilter Fusion – 24″ throat space, 12 foot table

Home Machine Quilt Show is a great time to test drive long arms if you are interested.

Check out the Tiara if you don’t have space for an entire long arm.

Bella solids are on sale on Fat Quarter Shop this month!

We always welcome your feedback!

All of our episodes are available here on the blog, on iTunes and Stitcher.

I can be your computer system on your long arm, anytime. The first couple quilts would be beta testing, though. ;-)

I’ve been planning on going to the Home Machine Quilt Show this year. I think I might just have to do some test drives while I’m there, though it will be a long, long time before I can get my own long arm machine.

Thank you for the great podcast! Since this winter is trying to kill me! First the exploding pipe in my sewing room and now a fall on black ice that fractured my elbow ! Would you consider a top 5 of quilting/sewing magazines or great quilting books or books that inspire. I might not be the only quilter confined to the couch this totally awful winter.
