Today both April and I are catching up with each other; and you!

The Quiltcast - AmysCreativeSide.com

My new, just for me project, is hand appliqué. I never thought I would be interested in it, but I’m loving it! So we are chatting about the different ways to prepare pieces for appliqué, and some tips and tools to put to use while stitching.

Craftsy class:  Big Techniques from Small Scraps with Sarah Fielke.

I’ve also referenced Jill Finely’s videos with Fat Quarter Shop, for a slightly different approach, but really loved the small project in the Big Techniques from Small Scraps class to get me started. Isn’t it cute :

Do you use a hoop to work your hand appliqué?

On your instagram I saw a post regarding your son who you indicated was suffering from an earache. If you don’t mind I would like to share a treatment that helped my children, it was recommended by their pediatrician as a way to help during the night. Warm up a small amount of olive oil and put one to two drops in the ear. Then lie down on a heating pad– with a cloth to catch any excess oil. It works.
