Zig-Zag Quilt Top

Posted on August 5th, by Amy in work in progress. 54 comments

Hi there! Did you miss me? I’m still here, I needed to catch up on a few things and I wanted to finish my zig-zag to show you!

I like this one a lot – super girlie and really fun! I did learn a few things making this one, when working with half-square triangles (hst’s) I prefer to press open. Also, explaining the process via words and pictures is a lot of fun. (I made a pdf with some handy information on it if you are thinking about a zig-zag – you can download it here.) Working with the smaller size was a nice change from my last finish too!

In other news — Today is Joe’s birthday! We are having a little celebration here at the house with brat’s and a curry potato salad (a … Read More »

Pattern Winners!

Posted on August 3rd, by Amy in bag, give away, pattern. 13 comments

I feel like the winner! Thank you so much for all your kind words about my pattern – I’m excited to see where this goes, and my head is swimming with more ideas. If only I could find more sewing time!!

I would love to see all the various prints and batiks in this bag – you all have some great ideas. I think that may be my favorite part about the bag – the ability to mix and match, and make it personal.

As for the winners -

#38 – Brenda – I need your email/mailing address :)#142 – Karen

Thanks to everyone that participated, and be sure to stop by my shop to purchase your own pattern :)Thanks again!Amy—————————————-

And, I went to get interfacing at my LQS earlier – they want to sell it too! And maybe make a class out of it! I wasn’t even trying to market it there yet, I had the kids with me, and thought I would come back when I had my act together :)

The giveaway – I will giveaway two copies on Monday, August 3rd. Leave a comment, and let me know what fabrics you would like to make it up with. Also, I would love to have your help spreading the word, so grab my picture and post on your blog. Let me know you posted in … Read More »

30 : : I’m Crocheting!

Posted on July 30th, by Amy in photographs. 25 comments

Just barely! So far I’ve learned dc, tr, and dtr – I figure abbreviated or not, they won’t make sense unless you crochet too! The yarn was given to me by Amy – isn’t it beautiful? Anyone have a good online resource for learning?

Thanks!Amy—————————————-

27 : : Mondays are for weekend recovery!

Posted on July 27th, by Amy in photographs. 10 comments

At least, that’s how today has been for me! I missed a day of posting – oh well :) Our weekend was full of friends and family, lots of driving, and not enough sleep! I don’t have pictures of the weekend but this lavender has been growing beautifully and I wanted to share.

I’ve also been hanging out on flickr a lot with the zig-zag quilt-along – lots of cute quilts coming soon! And I got feedback from my testers about this bag – I’m hoping that I can finalize and publish the pattern this week.

I’m looking forward to July being over – I’ve missed writing here more!

Blessings to you~Amy

22 : : Good, Clean Fun!

Posted on July 22nd, by Amy in My kids, photographs. 19 comments

I saw on a blog somewhere last week, about a feature in Family Fun of these fun bubble creations! Yesterday we put them to work inside :)

I have no mop, just a steamer for cleaning floors, our air has been out :( so I have put off cleaning the floor more than usual. The girls were enthusiastic to help, and even mop it up with cleaning towels when we were done. And yes – I was even sliding around in my shorts! Just beware to not slide too much if you try it – Ella has skinned knees today.

21 : : Our Mornings

Posted on July 21st, by Amy in Me, photographs. 14 comments

Since school has been out, I’ve been working on my own morning routine. Which means going to bed prior to midnight :) Now that everyone sleeps through the night – I have no excuse! A new stroller arrived yesterday, I have been saving for it for a while, and now regular walks are part of our morning routine!

Hope your day is going well ~Amy—————————————-
