I’ve had a bit of a lucky streak again lately! Within days of each other I had won a pile of Farbenmix patterns from Fabric Hound and a pile of charms from Angela! These patterns may be the ticket to get me to sew clothing for my girls again. The last thing I made for Ella is here. It’s been quite a while! Aren’t the patterns cute!?
The charms may become coasters . . . not yet decided – but they are so pretty to look at! Thank you to Angela & FabricHound!!
I realize that my blogiversary is coming soon! (and 200 posts) Hard to believe that it’s nearly been a year of cultivating friendships and clearing the creative cobwebs from my brain. I feel so blessed to be here :)

My sentiment for the holiday – “Love isn’t love till you give it away.” I pray that you are blessed with love today and always!
I found this bowl in a catalog that I still get, I’ve stopped most – too many trees, theirs is always packed with charming tidbits of days gone by, and I love it all. Although I’ve yet to buy anything – it’s all too nice for this house :)These towels are pretty adorable too! I put links into both of the pictures if you are in the mood to shop :)
I’ve been quiet here – sorry. I’ve been feeling the effects of a snowy week, without much sunshine, and I’m not used to that around here. And I’ve felt inclined to snuggle up with a book(s) instead of quilting. Have … Read More »
I had a productive day with my machine! I opted for these fast finishes, as my ideas had been stealing my sleep. Don’t you hate that? All I really want to do is sleep, and my brain is too busy thinking up stuff to create! I know, you feel my pain :)
My wonky log cabin for Amy. Well kinda wonky. . . Next time I may leave the rotary cutter in the box and use scissors. Old habits die hard.
Amy asked that we applique or embroider a bird to the block – it’s a big block 16″ – so I went for a different style with more stature for the piece. Makes me think of a crow on a wire . . .
The rest of the blocks are starting to … Read More »
Let me start by saying how thankful I am for each of you. I’ve been a bit slow in responding to your comments – sorry. My secret project has been eating up my free time, and brain space :) I appreciate all your comments and kind words, and I will be getting to my reader to visit you soon – I promise!
This is my SewConnected block for Stefanie, a proud new mama to a son! You really should go congratulate her :) Stefanie sent solids to make a quilt for her boy – aren’t the colors great!? Don’t look too close at this block you will find lots of little things that don’t make much sense! That’s why I like having a plan and drafting out my blocks – less … Read More »

I love, and am so thankful for this community of crafters in blogland! I have found another community, just for quilters – My Quilt Patch.
They host an interactive quilting website, including forums, and master quilters sharing their knowledge. My Quilt Patch is a members only site, with a small monthly subscription fee, (this keeps advertising on the site to a minimum) but they offer a free trial month – so you can check it out and decide if it’s a good fit for you!
My Quilt Patch has galleries to display your creations, lots of articles to encourage you as you learn new techniques and styles. I found free patterns and project there too!
The quilters forum is a great area to ask questions and share from your experiences, and they seem to have lots of new and fun … Read More »
I have never made a log cabin block. Never – of any sort! This is one of the most basic quilting blocks I have yet to make. I browsed through flickr and found a few extraordinary examples of how amazing these blocks can be. 1. I found a quilt top today!, 2. my new log cabin, 3. Crazy Log Cabin quilt… HPIM0342, 4. log cabin
Have you made a log cabin quilt? I would love to hear your experiences, tips and tricks! I received in the mail last week a collection of vintage sheets for A Notion or Two swap for Amy. And she wants wonky log cabin blocks! I’m pretty sure I can figure this out – but having help is so much fun!
Hope your having a great day!Blessing ~ … Read More »
My football diversion for yesterday was these little piles . . . but that’s all I’m going to tell you! Until a later date :)

Hi Friends~Despite my lack of posting – I’m still here, and it has been a productive week – just not with my sewing machine! Family first – right!? They will always be first in my book – even if I feel like pulling my hair out every once in a while :)
~ I made lots of phone calls to other mom’s in Ella’s school, and delegated costume projects. Whew! For a week or so I was working out what was needed and the best way to get them all done. I think the costumes will be really cute – that’s a whole other post though.
~ We had a parent-teacher conference yesterday – Ella is such a great student! All E‘s :) (E is for excellent in her school) And she’s reading … Read More »
This block has been a growing experience for me! After seeing all the blocks the past couple of weeks I felt stuck. Amy really wanted wonky, and no 90 degree angles, with a appliqued birdie. I’m still working on breaking out my box – this was a great push!
In the end I thought of a bird, through a window – here’s my translation :I’m pleased with how it turned out. Hope you do too, Amy!
Hope you are well ~ Amy
Remember Chelsee? She worked like a feign to make a quilt in a week. Being that she had not used a sewing machine, rotary cutter, seem ripper or pins – we were really impressed with how fast she picked it up! Here’s a couple of pictures that her and Jenna took – back at school – I love the backing fabric that she chose!Isn’t it so pretty!? Chelsee is pretty certain she will quilt again! yeah – glad to have another convert – he he :)
I had my stitches out this morning – now I just need it to finish healing. Though it could be a while as it is on the knuckle. . . I may put a picture up, if I’m brave.
Blessings to you ~ Amy
I have been sitting on this fabric all month – and the last week haven’t gotten sew much. Last night I ignored the dinner dishes and set to work after the kids went to bed. January is Tracy‘s month – she has a green living room and is making a quilt to coordinate. I love the luxurious fabrics that Tracy sent! I really wanted to highlight the silk somehow – and this is what I came up with. I hope you like it Tracy! The quilt is going to be fantastic – you can check out the other blocks over on flickr.
Now I need to get my other block done for Amy . . .
Hope you are having a great Friday!Blessings – Amy
