Well just a little :) Fat Quarter Shop has Christmas fabrics on sale, and I have been wanting to make a new tree skirt for a couple of years. So I just did it! :) I drafted it out already, I just need to get a few other projects off my list before I start. I also bought a panel to make a table runner, such a fun and quick project, but I’m going to cheat! I’m being realistic – the weeks keep flying by around here. In other news: I spent an hour or so, ripping out the quilting I had done on my corduroy project. I wasn’t happy with the quality of quilting my machine was producing. :( After having my thoughts confirmed by Amanda Jean, I’ve … Read More »
Our local grocery takes ripe/bruised bananas and marks them way down. All 4 of my kids love bananas, so getting home with a bunch of bananas can be challenging, many times I’m left with 1, especially when we are walking. And so I have a hard time passing these up!I usually feed them a few and then make banana bread with the rest. I stocked up big time :) I’ve been a little unhappy with one recipe and decided to try the stand-by that I grew up with – it was better than I remembered. The crust is just the right golden color, and crunchy, while the inside is moist and delish.I thought I would share the recipe – I love how simple it is, and on the low-fat side :)

It has been so beautiful here! I had to share pictures of the changing leaves – here’s a big dose of fall for those of you living without “seasons” :) This is by far my favorite time of the year, when I can hear the leaves crushing under my feet. I will go out of my way to crunch a few more! What is your favorite fall activity?
Our weekend was very, very wet. But I love the aftermath! Beautiful snow capped mountains. The valley we live in is surrounded by amazing peaks, this is the most photographed for it’s jagged edges. The best part is – I can see it from my kitchen! All winter long I watch the storms come in and out of the valley based on these mountains. … Read More »

You are welcome to join me in being thankful! I would love to know the blessings in your life – leave a comment and let me know :) Or post your own list.
Quilting on corduroy has been fun! Really, I’m just getting started, but it feels nice :)
What are you up to?
I realized last night that at the end of my Random post yesterday I said “Happy Tuesday” – lol! It seems the week is getting away from me. Maybe I need to keep the calendar a bit closer :)
I hope you are having a great week, honestly I’m glad that it is going fast! The last couple of weeks were really long. Blessings ~Amy
More like Cheez-it Monster! Owen loves these crackers and found a way to help himself. I walked into the kitchen (after leaving for 2 minutes) and laughed, then ran for the camera :)
He’s trying to clean up his mess – isn’t that sweet!? Many times I feel that our home is quite small, but I am thankful to always have an eye or ear on what may be happening with the little ones.
Happy October! It is feeling more and more fallish around here :) Usually by the end of the month we have had at least one decent snow storm – not sure we are ready for it, but winter will be here before fall is officially over!
I have been a bit cryptic the last week (maybe you didn’t notice?). The reason being : my mom had a serious breast cancer scare. Thankfully her biopsy results came back yesterday without cancer! Prior to the biopsy her Dr was 99.9% sure it was a rare and aggressive form of cancer, needless to say, this has been a huge concern for our family. She has had very good care, and will continue to be watched closely for the next few months, as this cancer is easily … Read More »
I’m venturing into new territory today! A tutorial- just for you. . . assuming you want a new wallet of course. :) I have found mine to be a great size for putting in my pocket real quick as I run out the door to take Ella to school, or the to the grocery store. Great for those that don’t care to carry a purse, or would rather not carry an extra 5 pounds of wallet! These pictures are full page size, so if you would like to, click on the page and print out. Close instructions make sewing simpler! Have fun and let me know if you make one, or have any trouble with my directions.

I find myself smiling whenever I see them! They are just so happy :) And I am happy to be finished with all these bookmarks too. I hope each lady that receives one will be smiling as well :)
I will be shipping them off on Monday, and I am planning to add a couple of extra to my esty shop and see how they do there.
Hope you are enjoying your Saturday ~Amy
This week has been a rollercoaster! I will have to tell you more on that later.
I managed to lose 2 lbs. in the midst of a busy week! Hooray :) Since my little incident last week, I have been able to slowly get moving again – I had 2 bruised knees and one shoulder . . . this week it’s just been my one knee with itchy scabs. I’m not showing pictures ’cause it’s not pretty! However, I would like to share a picture of my kids! They are the inspiration for most everything I do – whether it is laundry, cleaning up, or quilting, they give me a boost to keep going – mostly because they NEVER stop! And I love them so much :)More later!Amy
I have been included in the most fabulous group of quilters! Each month we receive a packet of fabric and make one quilt block for another member of the group, and send it back. I received my packet this week and it so great! Rita is setting the bar pretty high for the rest of us :) She included a piece of embroidery for each block – I have to think up something fabulous! I have been working hard on my quilted bookmarks. Yesterday I finished appliqueing the stems to the front. I need to cut my backing and get them put together today :) It’s fun!
If you click the button on my left-sidebar, it takes you to the group – and you can check out pictures.
