The hard part about writing a book, is not being able to share the quilts I’m really excited to be making! Over the last month, I’ve completed tops for 9 of the 10 projects in my next book, but I saved the most laborious for last. I wanted to be able to focus, and not mix things up, which I haven’t done yet (knock on wood)!
The project includes some strip piecing – which I like to use a shortened stitch length for. This keeps stitches from unraveling when I cut my segments.
Any guesses as to how many half-square triangle units are here? I cut all of these with my Go! cutter last week, there’s a few quarter-square triangles too. Then I spent two days of sewing to get to a … Read More »
When asked by magazine editors and marketing gurus, if I would like to be a part of a quilt-along, the obvious answer is – yes! And thank you for the invite!
This is the first ever quilt-along hosted by American Patchwork & Quilting! The project is in the February issue, which is shipping to subscribers now, and will be on newsstands the first week of December.
Tone It Down, is by Lissa Alexander and quilted by my friend Natalia Bonner, isn’t it beautiful?

Hi friends! Since wrapping up Blogger’s Quilt Festival, I’ve been sewing non-stop. I have a book due in January, and with the holidays nearly here, I’m rushing to finish as much as I can now! Like, all of the piecing.
The way I tend to work, takes over the kitchen table, and I would love to be done setting up and putting away (daily) for a month, while I quilt everything downstairs.
It’s a lot of work, but I always enjoy the bits of frantic energy!
Even if I do question my decision when it’s time to trim things up. It’s not always perfect but it is getting done!
Next June I will be teaching at the Small Town Quilt Show, right here in my little valley! High Valley … Read More »

Today the linky to nominate your favorite for a Viewer’s Choice award is open – take note that the entries are being moderated and I will approve later in the week, before the voting begins. If this is a complete mystery for you, email me a link of the quilt/post you would like to nominate.
I’m home from a successful Market, and working to catch up on emails and check in on the linky’s. Just to clarify, each quilter can enter up to two quilts, but each quilt must be in a different category, and only one category per quilt.
Have you noticed the upgraded linky? You can post to pinterest, twitter and Facebook right from the linky, and once … Read More »
