Bloggers Quilt Festival
Hi friends! Are you ready for it? Just a few more days, and all the fun begins!
I’m working on my posts, to have multiple linky’s ready, it’s a chore now, but I think it will be easier later once you start linking up. Remember, there is a main post, that will remain at the top of my blog for the duration of the Festival, but to see the quilts, and link up you will need to click the link to visit each category. Each quilter can enter two quilts, in separate posts, and categories.

Life is full, and I am blessed! It just makes it hard to keep up with everything ;) So I thought I would share a couple of highlights from the last few days.
This is a peek at a Christmas quilt in progress – a first for me. I’m excited to see it come together!
I have been adding to the space around the longarm too. My collection of mini quilts from various swaps add inspiration, and a good dose of color!
The quilt draped on the longarm includes some new fabrics from my friend Emily – more on Technicolor soon!
Are you ready for Blogger’s Quilt Festival?

Looking back over the eight other Festivals I’ve hosted, I’m looking forward to the next installment, and hope you are too! Do you have a quilt to share yet? I’m still deciding which quilt I will share. It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but usually it’s the most recent finish!
The Festival will run May 17-31st. As in the past I have a great group of sponsors, and everyone is welcome to participate! (email me, if you would like to sponsor a prize) I’m thinking about making each category it’s own linky, this time around, I’m thinking more quilts will be viewed if we aren’t overwhelmed by the volume of quilts to view, in each post. It also means you have to pick just one category to enter your quilt in. I would love to know your thoughts.
A few … Read More »

Every time I make it back to my computer, I am wowed by the additions to the linky! You guys are amazing!
I love the variety of quilts, and each post I’ve read has been inspirational. Thank you all for the effort and thought you have put into your entries!
How far have you made it through the list?
I’ve taken a random approach, personally, as I have a chance to sit for a minute or two. I have hopes of sitting down and clicking through the majority of them soon!
Do you have a favorite yet?
I can’t say if I do, but Kendra made a smart suggestion for us. We should add our entry numbers to our BQF Stats, in our post, to help keep track of favorites, and … Read More »
Welcome to the Fall Blogger’s Quilt Festival! I’m delighted that you have come to share inspiration and be inspired!
The Festival is open to anyone that would like to participate no matter how long you’ve been quilting or how many quilts you have finished. The story of each quilt often relates quilters to one another, and is an important aspect of our Festival! I hope you take the time to write about how your entry quilt came to be and why it is important for you to share it. Likewise, I hope you enjoy reading about the quilts others’ have entered!
Like in the spring, we have categories to consider and nominate favorite quilts in.
The schedule of events is this :
October 26 – 31 Linky open
November 1 – 4 Nominations … Read More »
I’m so happy to have a new finish to share with you for Blogger’s Quilt Festival! My Button Box quilt is a variation of a quilt I made last spring, with a twist. Previously, it was made with 9″ blocks and a very pretty fabric line, however, while designing the block I realized that I could easily adjust the size (as you can with most blocks) and decided that I needed to make a scrappy version!
I loved pulling fabrics from my stash/scraps for this project, and reminisced where each had been used in previous projects. Some in very different projects, and others had been waiting for this one! While I was selecting fabrics, I tried to use mostly fabrics with the same saturation, or intensity. The few exceptions offer a resting place for your eye in the … Read More »
The Festival begins on Friday! Are you ready? I hope so! I have a bit of work to do before I am, but most of the sponsor details are in place, and you will see them popping up on my sidebar later this week!
If you don’t have your button yet – add the code to your sidebar, or share it in a post. The code is in my sidebar (it doesn’t like to be in posts…). The linky will be open this Friday (October 26) through the following Wednesday (October 31), after that there will be a nomination form available for your favorites. If you are scheduling your post ahead be sure to include a few specifics about your finished quilt:
Special Techniques used, if any
This will help with the nomination process later – thanks!
I also have a few … Read More »
