I pray that you are well and blessed today. I am enjoying the day with my family and doing a little baking for our Christmas breakfast! I’ll be back in a few days to fill you in on our Christmas happenings.

It would seem I’ve been absent more than present here lately. . . and my creative time has been out the window, but I have good reason!
Saturday morning we packed the kids up andwent camping! Our plan was to be gone two nights, but the second night had some serious storms in the forecast. Joe and I ended up taking down the tent in the midst of a crazy hail storm – thankfully the kids were safe inside the truck :) We opted for more sleep at home, instead of the lightening/thunder night that was predicted.
We had a great time over in Dinosaur! The kids love to collect rocks, and poke sticks in holes to see who lives there. And explore the petroglyphs and scramble the mountain side.
Being in a National Monument means that all … Read More »
I hope that you all had a great weekend, near or far! I have lots of pictures to prove my weekend was a blast!
Coldstone icecream cake–Owen eating it –
Outside on the new patio–
Owen eating the dirt–
From my little vegetable patch – I know most in the US are already eating from their gardens or getting really close! Here in the mountains if I plant too early the frost gets it – this is the usual weekend for the seeds to go in! They were planted today :)
Joe and I got to go out for dinner on Saturday — we had a great night on our own. And look what I found while browsing Barnes & Noble! Love all the eye candy in this book.
By birthday fabric! You guessed it :) I’m hoping to … Read More »
I think I need a list!
I had a fabulous time at the Quilt Show on Saturday, and I feel like I haven’t stopped since!
Yesterday with the family was so nice and relaxed, after Owen’s nap in the afternoon, we headed down to Salt Lake all together. Family outings can be a challenge, but we all enjoyed ourselves. The Gateway is a nice outdoor mall, and we simply strolled. I wandered through Anthropologie and found these – I was due for a new set :) I love all the linens they have in there. A nice dinner out concluded our evening in the valley and we were on our way into the hills! I love living up away from the city. My Mother’s Day flowers:This week marks the beginning of “birthday season” for our … Read More »
My sentiment for the holiday – “Love isn’t love till you give it away.” I pray that you are blessed with love today and always!
I found this bowl in a catalog that I still get, I’ve stopped most – too many trees, theirs is always packed with charming tidbits of days gone by, and I love it all. Although I’ve yet to buy anything – it’s all too nice for this house :)These towels are pretty adorable too! I put links into both of the pictures if you are in the mood to shop :)
I’ve been quiet here – sorry. I’ve been feeling the effects of a snowy week, without much sunshine, and I’m not used to that around here. And I’ve felt inclined to snuggle up with a book(s) instead of quilting. Have … Read More »
I was trying to get here yesterday! Too much activity in my house :) I’m behind in responding to your nice comments about the quilt top – thank you! I get such a boost sharing here.
Emmalie had a great Birthday – thank you for your birthday wishes for her! A few pictures from our birthday celebration :)She was exasperated with daddy for taking her picture. I have a few with just her spoon! The birthday cake – Emmalie asked for a butterfly cake (I already had the pan) with rainbow frosting. I’m not usually quite this artistic with the cakes but I pulled it off :) She loved it! In fact she was just asking me to print this picture so she could have it. Em has a way of … Read More »
I can’t believe I’ve been away for the last 5 days! I have some major catching up to do :)
How are you? I hope that you had fun ringing in the new year – we watched a couple of movies and relaxed, nothing crazy!
I took down my 2008 calendar this morning. My first thought was to just toss it, since it’s been a tough year. . . but then I thought a little more. As I looked through it I was reminded of so many good things. Owen’s first tooth, first birthday, Joe turning 30, our 9th anniversary, dinner with friends, and so much more – and thru each of those things God’s goodness!
I am very thankful that it is a new year, and quite hopeful for a great year, but last … Read More »
We had a blessed day yesterday! The snow was falling all day (about 18″) and we were happy to stay indoors, cozy and warm :) Everyone had something new to hold their attention and for the most part the little ones got along. There’s usually something that everyone wants, and Owen is too young to understand that not everything is his! All in good time :)
For Christmas Eve we went to a service at 3 in the afternoon. This service (1 of 5) was geared toward the kids, with young readers reading passages of scripture, and directed readings. There was also a kids choir for those that wanted to participate, Ella and Sophia happily agreed. We were so proud to watch them singing of our Saviors birth.Thankfully I had a couple of pads … Read More »
Today is our wedding anniversary! Nine years ago today, Joe and I were married :) We were both relieved that we were actually married, the weeks leading up to it were hectic and fun. I thought that in honor of our day I would share 9 things about US. . . 1 – We met while on a three week missions trip with our school. I had just finished my Junior year and Joe his Freshman.
2 – We didn’t really get along, or even like each other at first, but married just a year later!
3 – We are both the oldest child in our families, which played out in #2, and we have our moments day to day where it is obvious. :)
4- We wrote letters for three months and got to know one another, … Read More »
My Joe turns 30 tomorrow! Yes I am about 1 year older than he – this has been the source of tons of jokes. The day that I turned 25, I was over the hump and nearly 30! When I finally turned 30 it wasn’t a big deal :) Now it’s his turn! We celebrated last night with some family and friends, and we are doing it again tomorrow! Schedules! Deep down I’m really glad to celebrate his birthday twice – it is such a special day why not spread it out a bit. Plus it is more reasons to bake! For the crowd last night Joe requested lasagna. I have an incredible spaghetti sauce that is a staple through winter, but rarely make lasagna – it’s a lot of work! … Read More »
Do you have fun family traditions for the 4th of July? We have one that we started last year – and the girls love it! Owen was a mere 2 weeks old last summer and I was in no condition to traipse about for hours, so Joe took the girls to the hot air balloon festival. It gets pretty cool (55) over night even though it has been in the 90’s all week, and that allows the balloons to have a good flight before it gets too hot. Here’s the girls last year :) There’s more pictures here.We got down there this morning with the masses – it didn’t quite work out as planned but we still had a great IHOP breakfast (a real treat) and good family time. Later, we have a bbq … Read More »

Owen is our sweet boy, little man, always looking for trouble and loved by all. I remember telling Joe as we drove home from the hospital last year, as a family, “Now I feel like our family is complete.” And this year … Read More »
