Posted on February 17th, by Amy in give away. 789 comments

My friend and sponsor Jackie of Canton Village Quilt Works is sharing her quilting story and giving away fabric from her shop!  Enjoy —

I made a patchwork pillow, which I still have, but that was the extent of the quilting. At that time, I loved to make clothing. But no longer do, because I totally and passionately love quilting.

I got back into quilting about 17 years ago, just before our first child was born. I began to make baby clothes and my hubby suggested that I try something different. Well, his exact words were… “Since you are going to be a stay at home mom, you should really get … Read More »

Hi everyone. My name is Andrea Baker and I live in Columbus, Ohio with my wonderful husband and 2 beautiful children and loving dog and 3 moody cats.I was inspired by the talents and teachings of my mother. As a child I remember my momma working at a wedding boutique in Toledo, Ohio. Specifically, I recall watching her sew the beautifully soft fabrics and create wonderfully fabulous dresses.

I love to create classy, functional and affordable handmade items with service that is unmatched. Sparked by the desire for a new handbag that nobody else had, I went to work on creating my very own design. I … Read More »

I asked Michelle to share a little about herself and her shop —

Hello, I’m Michelle, from Rosebud Quilting.  You can find me on my blog Rosebud Quilting, where I blog mostly about quilting and fabric, but I also enjoy knitting, gardening, rubber stamping, and of course photography.  I have a long arm quilting business {Gammill statler stitcher}, that at present I have just been working with local clients.  I branched out into the on-line fabric selling about August of 2009 and I have a shop on Etsy.  I carry a great selection of Kaffe Fassett prints and shot cottons, along with Phillip Jacobs, Amy Butler, Heather Bailey, Denyse Schmidt and later this month expecting Joel Dewberry’s … Read More »

I have a treat for you today!  A beautiful camera strap has been offered by my friend Amy, of Priddy Creations for one of you!

I asked Amy to share a little about the how and why she creates –
After my second daughter was born, I decided to stay at home with my girls. I have always been a career driven person and knew that I wouldn’t be happy not having something to do. While my family is important, I am a person that needs a creative outlet. So I started scrapbooking and beading. That eventually ended up leading to selling on eBay. I switched gears a few years ago and traded in my beads for fabric and the rest … Read More »

Dear Santa,

Posted on December 16th, by Amy in give away. 9 comments

I’ve been a good girl this year! Your elves at FatQuarterShop are busy making wishes come true and I wanted to be sure to let you know a couple of things I really want, and kinda need!I just love the colors and graceful prints in the Dolce collection – I put links in the pictures if you would like to have a look at all of them.

I keep finding myself using the kids’ paper scissors to trim my threads – a pair of my very own scissors, just for fabric, would be so nice!

And in the coming weeks I have a pile of quilts to bind – a pack or two of these clips would save my hands. They get tired after a while of pulling everything into place!

Thanks Santa! I’m crossing my fingers and toes – … Read More »
