Winners – at last!
Thank you to everyone that has participated in the Festival. I’m always amazed at the mass of genuine and generous quilters willing to share their quilts and the story that goes with it. I was talking about my blog with a group of teachers last week, and read an entry to them — there were many of us in tears (myself included) and that’s just one example of how powerful our words are. I hope that you have been inspired and moved while perusing the festival. There’s a lot of love in each of our quilts! The best part is – the quilts will forever be on display here – so there’s lots of time to check them all out! Please send me your feature nominations as you look – I’ve gotten a few, but need lots … Read More »
Hi friends! I was excited to be invited to participate in this blog hop hosted by Pat Sloan – Thanks Pat!I’ll tell you about the rulers, but first I thought I would share one of my first quilts. This is a little 27″ square quilt that I made for Emmalie when she was a baby. It was the perfect size for stroller time and a nursing cover too -
You can see, that I folded the fabric to the front to bind it. At this point I had a large cutting mat, but only a small 6″ ruler for cutting strips…I had the hardest time getting straight strips! I didn’t know any better, I’ve added a few rulers to my collection since, but the little one is still a favorite for crosscutting. I had read enough to … Read More »
Have you noticed? There’s a new fabric shop online! Cathy at Wondrous Woven Fabrics is hoping to inspire your next project.
I asked Cathy to share a little bit about her shop and herself~
Wondrous Woven Fabrics is a shop for beautiful and inspiring fabrics and patterns. It is my hope that people will be able to find fabrics they are looking for and know they love, along with some new fabrics to love that they may not have seen before. I also love patterns, so I’m planning to stock lots and lots more of those, too.
I started sewing at about age 8, and I was self-taught since my mom hated to sew. I have always loved fabric, and worked in a fabric store while in college. Even during times when I have not been … Read More »

I’m setting on a new path, I hope you will join me! I have a pattern to offer you and I hope to have more in the coming months too. This is a quilt that I originally designed to use my scraps from another project. I call it Simple Times –
This is a small lap quilt, 52″ x 52″ and can be made with a layer cake (10″ squares) and charm pack (5″ squares) or yardage of your choice. Instructions for cutting and piecing the quilt top are included for both.
