I have another finish to share! Weave is featured in Interweave’s annual issue, Quilt Scene.
Weave is a fun and simple – graphic quilt. I used my fabrics, Modern Neutrals, from a fat quarter bundle, and some extra yardage.
It was fun to make and quilt! Detail shot:
I quilted down the charcoal fabric with figure 8’s, this really made the rest of the piecing pop, and the pieces are big enough to show off the fabrics a little too.
If you haven’t seen Quilt Scene before – I highly recommend it! Along with projects and great articles, there’s also images of quilts from the International Quilt Festival. It’s truly inspirational and a valuable resource of information.
What are you stitching today?
#1A recently finished quilt is now gracing the cover of American Patchwork and Quilting! This issue is due to start showing up on newsstands today, but I know some of you have gotten it in your mailbox already.
The fabrics are Modern Neutrals (of course!) and I paired two traditional blocks for a unique “Layered Look”. I also quilted this myself, with pebbles in the light areas, and a few large petals in the flowering snowball blocks.
Here’s a flat shot of the quilt – Layered Look :
Just in case you want to make the quilt for yourself with my fabrics here’s a list with fabric names and sku’s

Do you read Quilty? Hard to believe, but it’s been over a year that I’ve been working with Mary to write articles about quilting on your home sewing machine! Every so often, I submit a pattern design to be featured in the magazine too.
I was so excited to see the current issue of Quilty arrive last week, along with my article is a new quilt pattern I designed in my Modern Neutrals fabrics! Check out Quill :
Quill measures 56″ x 72″, and it’s a quick and simple half-square triangle quilt! I love the photography – they always do a great job shooting the quilts! If you haven’t seen Quilty locally, you can grab a copy online, digital or print, AND kits for Quill are available, and will ship later this month.
Be sure to check out all the Moda Love Tour posts – … Read More »
Hi friends! I love seeing all the quilts you have entered in the Festival! If you haven’t entered yet, there’s still time! Visit this post and select a category your quilt falls into, and link up. Also, there have been lots of nominations, but there’s always room for more – select a favorite from all the categories to nominate for Viewer’s Choice. I will sort through all the nominations over the weekend, and then we vote for our top three favorites!
I had a great Market experience with a full schoolhouse, and four signings giving me a chance to chat with a number of shop owners and fans. I’m still in recovery and catch up mode around the house, but today I’m planning to ignore the laundry and enjoy my birthday! I think I will pull out my Dancing Stars blocks … Read More »
ETA : Winner is Sally, who likes to set her blocks on point!
Guess what? I’m excited to have a block in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 7! I’m a part of the Blog Hop today hosted by Quiltmaker. Join in the fun for your chance to win a copy at the end of the post.
My block is called Enchanted, you will find it on page 52 of the magazine. I love watching blocks interact in a quilt top, and thought I would share a couple of options with you!
I love the simple, secondary elements within a full quilt top.
And a runner set on-point, would make a fun addition to your table!
I think the block is much more fun in a group :) How would you set … Read More »
Thanks for the well wishes on Modern Neutrals – I just realized that my post didn’t post as I wrote it, there was lots left off! Sorry, I had wanted to tell you more about the inspiration and let you know where you could view more information. So I’ve updated the post, if you’d like to read more.
Modern Patchwork is in bookstores and shipping now from Interweave! I have this sewing tote patterned in the magazine, along with an article about Blogger’s Quilt Festival.
The tote features 7 pockets. One for blocks, that also doubles as a ironing surface on the go. One zippered pocket with clear vinyl, for little notions. And room for a cutting mat, rulers, rotary cutters and more in the rest!
I haven’t had the chance to put … Read More »

My mailman has been busy bringing happy mail to our mailbox lately!
Last week, the new issue of Generation Q Magazine was delivered. During the month of May, I quickly pieced and finished a quilt with a little fall flair. The issue is packed with info for quilters, and I’m happy to be included among great designers sharing fun patterns!
Once I have my quilt back I’ll share pictures – I promise! For now, you can check out where to buy the magazine here, and I noticed that Fat Quarter Shop already has it listed here.
Just yesterday my 2013 calendar arrived! I usually buy a calendar at the end of November or December, since I rely more on my phone/ipad calendar a paper one is less necessary. But, I’ve found paper calendars really helpful when … Read More »
