I love the progression of the pics – you can see him turning from a baby to a boy. =)
Owen is our sweet boy, little man, always looking for trouble and loved by all. I remember telling Joe as we drove home from the hospital last year, as a family, “Now I feel like our family is complete.” And this year … Read More »
Well – I managed to sit and have a little sewing time last night. Just me and my machine. =) I squared up my diamond quilt and add the borders. I will have to post pictures when time is more available – it has been such a busy week, and I was sewing in the dark. Not the best time for photos. I have read that a few people have named their sewing machine. At first, I kinda laughed, but then I thought about how much I enjoy spending time with my machine. So, why not? I need help though – any ideas? I think feminine would suite my machine best.
We went to the final ceremony of VBS today. I have to say that if it weren’t for the … Read More »
I know, I surprise myself too! Sewing with 4 little ones running around can be challenging. I just have to plan ahead for naptime and I sew at the kitchen table. This is a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I can be in the midst of my kids while working on little bits. A curse because I have to pack everything up constantly. Oh well, it’s what God has on my plate for now – so I make the best of it!This quilt will be for my shop – finally! Joe still needs a quilt, I am reminded often, that he is the only one in our house without a personal quilt. But he is a lot more particular on fabric choice, so it’s a bit tricky. … Read More »
Our Sophia is 3! She has become such a big girl, in the last year she — became a big sister.- had her first haircut.- was potty trained!- has loved being a mommy to her baby dolls.Sophia is a sweetheart, she loves to snuggle and build forts with her sisters. Sophia means wisdom, and she has proven very smart this last year too! I love you Sophia! I am so thankful that God choose to make me your mommy, may He continue to bless you!
So yesterday I sat off and on when possible to finish the binding by hand on Emmalie’s quilt. By late afternoon I had finished – my hands were numb at that point so it was a good thing! It went straight to the wash, for the puckery finishing touch. I took it up to Em as she was trying to go to sleep – she looked at me with huge smiles, “I love my quilt – thank you mommy.” She melts my heart everytime =) We had a photo shoot with the quilt this morning -A few of my favorite details . . .One happy little girl!
Owen is walking?! Last week he had his 11 month milestone and it seemed to be the day he decided to walk. He has been practicing for at least 3 months – one, two steps here and there, occasionally a third. Then it turned into five and six steps at a time – until finally this last week he has been walking across rooms! My girls all walked by their first birthday but Owen has been a bit early in the movement department in relation to them. Either he really wants to chase them or he just has a bit more coordination and muscle. He’s just too much fun. Of course he is happiest when I am sitting in one spot so that he can play with me watching on. So here’s a few … Read More »
We have been in party mode around here. First, my birthday was a great day, family, fun and shopping! The three greats. I went to the outlets and got all stocked up for summer. I had been thinking back to last summer and remembered that I spent it indoors, in sweats with a newborn. So the summer duds were very timely =) Second school is out – hooray! Ella is already looking forward to 3rd grade with a couple of best friends. We am so happy that she loves school, it makes getting her out the door much easier. So now to fill up the days with all 4 at home, and work around the nap schedule! It all will work, we just need a few more art supplies, and another … Read More »
Usually I feel a little whiny after a long Monday – not today! The sun was warm and bright and it was the last Monday of the school year. Just writing it makes me smile, no more Monday alarm clock, no more pestering Ella to get ready before school, we just have to make it through 3.5 more days! That is totally doable.
Yesterday I purchased dirt. My raised bed for vegetables was looking a little low, and it is warm enough at night now to support veggies – yeah! So I dumped the couple of bags I bought and mixed the compost all over and I felt like a kid playing in the mud pies we made on occasion growing up. (Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula is very rainy.) I probably wasn’t nearly … Read More »
Hi there! Just a quick post to show you the completed top. I loved putting this together – it was so fast and simple. It measures 52×78″ – not quite twin, but I am happy with it! My plan now is purchase backing fabric and batting – then get to quilting. Until then I think I will be practicing new forms of quilting – I am ready to move past the straight line quilting I have done thus far.Hope you are having a great weekend -Blessings – Amy
Happy Birthday Ella! I am so proud of my Ella girl. She is a great big sister, a super student, a good friend, and a big helper to me.
At 8 years old I can hardly believe where the time is gone! I have learned so much about being a mom with Ella, and so much about myself. I have learned that the main purpose of our children is to grow and learn in the process. So even though I don’t always do everything right, my ability to learn on the go, and God’s strength, helps me through this season of life. I love you Ella! May God continue to bless you in the coming years.Yes that is a bb gun in her hands! She enjoys the great outdoors with her daddy … Read More »
I have been catching up on all the posts I missed this week with my parents in town. One of the first posts I found – after yours, of course! – was a photo contest in honor of mother’s day. Over at 5minutesformom you can get all the details to enter too! $1000 Amex gift card – from Eggbeaters. Why not enter – right?
Two pictures – I had to post the second. We all know that “imitation is the highest form of flattery.” And this is one moment where it paid off for me. You always hope and pray that they pick up the good stuff from you not just the bad! Owen was two months old at the time this picture was taken – just waiting for me while I got the girls ready for bed. As … Read More »
So it goes without saying this has been a busy week. I have so many blogs to catch up on – but find myself here for a few minutes and thought I would give you a few snipets of what has been going on!
Our girls love Grandma & Grandpa – they always bring presents! Yesterday Emmalie had to help Grandpa get something out of the trunk of his rental car. She was barely able to control herself when she saw a brand new princess bike – just what she “always wanted.”She had a blast riding her bike off and on – as adults would go outside with her. Grandpa even outfitted her with elbow and knee pads – just in case. Now once summer is in full swing (one more month of school) we … Read More »
